Zinc

Zinc is an essential mineral that helps the body inside out and maintains the health of your largest organ, your skin. The outer layer of your skin has five times more of this mineral than the layer underneath. Zinc helps your skin heal after an injury. It’s needed to keep cell walls stable and for cells to divide and specialize as they grow.

Acne

Zinc works with other vitamins and minerals to help treat skin lesions. When taken orally, it can decrease the severity of acne and early signs of maturing skin. If applied topically the mineral has been shown to protect the skin and aid in wound healing and regeneration.

Anti-aging

Zinc helps protect against harmful UV rays. Zinc can reflect the sun and create a barrier between the skin and any damaging UV rays. Zinc is one of the two physical sun filters capable of deflecting UV rays, protecting skin from sun damage and premature aging. Zinc also acts as an enzyme cofactor, assisting in collagen synthesis and DNA repair, which can help keep skin looking younger and healthier.

Anti-inflammatory

Zinc has an amazing ability to fight inflammation on the skin. Inflammation plays an important role of skin recovery, but too much can lead to free radicals that cause damage. Zinc reduces inflammation, healing tissues and smoothing skin. Its great for treating rosacea, eczema and melasma, among other skin conditions.
