Retinoids

Retinoid refers to a group of compounds that derive from vitamin A. They are used to help improve skin’s health and appearance because they can help regulate epithelial cell growth.

What are the types of Retinoids?

  • Alitretinoin
  • Isotretinoin
  • Tretinoin
  • Etretinate
  • Acitretin
  • Tazarotene
  • Adapalene
  • Differin
  • Seletinoid G

Acne

Retinoids can control several factors that can cause acne, including oil production and inflammation.  By preventing dead skin cells from clogging your pores, retinoids has the ability to prevent future breakouts. Additionally, a retinoid product may also reduce the appearance of acne scars if you have suffered from past breakouts.

Anti-Aging

Aging causes the skin to become thinner and the production of collagen to decrease.  This causes the skin to become dull and wrinkling.  Retinoids could boost skin health by regulating numerous transcription factors located within the nucleus of various cells.  Retinoids could also stimulate the production of blood vessels.
