Arginine HCL

Arginine is an amino acid used in cosmetics and skincare products to help protect the skin from free radicals, increase the skin’s visible hydration levels, and potentially support collagen production.

Hydration

Arginine is a highly hydrating agent. When used topically it acts as a humectant. A humectant pulls water into the skins surface from the environment and traps it, leaving for a more hydrated complexion. Arginine helps to produce components like ceramides, cholesterol, urea, and glycosaminoglycans. Combined with the lipids present in your skin, this is an ingredient that leaves your skin supple and glowing from within.

Antioxidant

Arginine has been shown to have antioxidant activity. Antioxidants work by neutralizing free radicals, the unstable molecules that contribute to the formation of premature wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Free radicals damage important cellular components, such as the cell membrane, DNA, and cellular proteins like collagen.

Collagen Production

Arginine supports collagen production and speeds up the wound healing process of the skin. Collagen improves skins firmness and decreases signs of aging.
